Topic: glazed ixing teapot

Hello there,

I´m glad to find this forum, although its hard to find serious informations on the net. The most informations I´ve found are connected with comercial intentions. On this way, I bought a ixing pot from a serious craftsman of "yunann". As I the pot arrived, I realized that this peace was glazed, which affected the exchange of oxid between the inner tea-brew and the air outside.

My question is: Does anyone know a technic to "break" this glazed surface?? Or is there any special use for glazed pot´s??

It would be very kind, anybody knows a answer and shares his experience with me.

Thanks for reading,

till next time...

I don't know much about it but am very curious :D Can you show a photo? Since you mentioned Yunnan, I wonder if it's possibly a jian shui ceramic instead of yixing. Many jian shui wares do have some glaze looking.

Hello Biloba,

nice to have your answer...

The pot was declared as a ixing-ware and it has a personal signatur on its bottom.
Right now, I´m not at home, but I upload a photo when possible. At monday...

Is there a place to introduce myself and get familiar with other members of this blog?
I´m writing from Germany, so please excuse the mistakes of the wirting...

Best wishes,

There wasn't, but that's a good idea, so I've created a new sub-forum for introductions and off-topic discussion.

If you keep asking questions and posting photos, people will show up one after one ;-)

Re: glazed ixing teapot

Hello,

sorry, it´s the first time that I join the forum since coming back home and I realize,
that I have no clue about uploading photographs. Tomorrow I´ll try to lift this problem...

It would be very fine to get some "teafriends", even its on this virtual place. Unfortunately, I
don´t know anybody in my next environment to talk to and share some experience.

Is there a special country or any other case you all met in this forum?

Till morning...
