Topic: disadvantage

Hello I'm new to the forum. I have been drinking green tea for many years and I swear by it. Just recently I had kidney stones ( I'm living in vietnam for 1 year ) I am originally from Australia. I was told by someone that their doctor said 'green tea' might have been the problem. Now I don't believe that, but I would like to see if anyone has something to add.
Thanks.
Oh also I don't drink green tea in a bag or a brand. I buy fresh leaf tea.

Re: disadvantage

consuming green tea decrease the propability of forming kidney stones, for example see this:

http://webmd.com/kidney-stones/news/200 … ney-stones

however, there was hypothesis, that it might increase the chance, because tea contains oxalates (small amounts compared to many other foods). But several studies confirmed the opposite so there must be some more important factor so the overall effect is decreasing the chance of getting kidney stones. For more information you can see this article:

Hi, and welcome. I've edited your post so that the links work.

The reason we restrict new members from posting links is because (like many forums), we get a lot of spammers signing up, often trying to drive traffic to their site, or create SEO spam. In fact, this forum isn't very active, so spammers are more the rule than the exception. Once you've been active for longer, you'll be able to post links. Teachat, as well as some Facebook groups, are a lot more active than this site.

So, it's an intentional feature, whether or not you feel it's stupid.

Personally, I think it's tricky to talk much about tea's health benefits. I prefer to drink the teas I like to drink (as long as they make my body feel good), and not worry too much. Drinking in moderation is probably a good idea, whether you're interested in tea's benefits or worried about drawbacks.

Re: disadvantage

Traditional advice is not to drink more than 2 cups of green tea a day unless you are using it as a treatment for a bad chest cold or some major disease as you faced. Take care.

Re: disadvantage

I don't green tea is the reason for kidney stones, in fact it cures kidney stones. But the problem i faced with green tea is ACNE. I am drinking green tea from last year and whenever i drink green tea without lemon and honey in it the very next day i have acne on my face. I don't know why this is happening can anyone help me with the real reason of this condition.
