Topic: Should I be worried?

Help!
I got a little cute teapot (will post photo later) which is made of Duan Ni but is a product of Yao Bian (窑变). So it's in dark green color, with a bit uneven red/yellow at the bottom and under the lid. It's made by Hua Shi Studio (华氏坊).

On the one hand, I love it very much. On the other hand, I am a little disturbed by a few color streaks inside the teapot near the opening rim. I don't think I can get a photo deep inside the teapot. But roughly the color is similar to the indigo color (light blue) in this figure, maybe a little more dense.

The teapot is from a reputable seller. And the studio that made it, I think, is good enough not to make anything bad, and not famous enough for other people to fake their pots. So theoratically I can't see any reason why this pot could possibly be unsafe. But since I've never had a teapot with such color inside, it does disturb me. Meantime, since I love this teapot very much and I am generally not very careful about what I eat and drink, I've alreayd started using this teapot. I can't help using it but think I had better ask people and find out if I am slowly poisoning myself :-p

So what do you guys think can cause such color streaks? Should I be worried about it? Many thanks!

I think the site you linked to with a color example image is blocking hot links - I get redirected to their main site.

Re: Should I be worried?

All of the Yaobian pots I have seen have had many and varied colors on the outer surface, including, sometimes, colors like that indigo. However, most looked like regular Yixing pots on the inside. Maybe your pot got hot enough in the kiln to make colors on the inside too.

The link still works on my computer. But let me try another one. This one is even closer to the blue color inside my pot.

Mine is actually not as colorful as the typical yao bian pots. It almost looks like an ordinary green clay pot, with just a big color variation at the bottom. Also the color streaks inside the pot don't merge into the background color, almost looks like painted streaks, but not painted. Does it sound odd?

It does sound odd to me... Do you think you could write to the studio and ask about it? Maybe send them a picture.
